10% Admit Browsing Flights During Their Lunch Hour

A new poll has suggested that 10% of Britons now browse flights during their lunch hour, showing Bravofly the changes technology is bringing to the holiday industry.

When and How Are People Booking Their Holidays?

Commissioned by Bravofly, the new research from One Poll gathered the opinions of 500 respondents.  It found that one in ten people use their work ‘down time’ to make a reservation. This contrasts with 43% of people, who are willing to wait until they get home to book, and 22%, who are willing to wait until the weekend.

This has most likely been driven by the rise of online technology, which makes booking easier than ever. Indeed, Bravofly launched its own booking app, following evidence that suggested that 26% of people use a tablet to book their getaway, whilst 15% do so via their mobile phone.

Who is Most Likely to Book a Holiday During Their Lunch Hour?

The One Poll research also found that another 16% of those surveyed wait until the boss’ attention is off them, to rush through a crafty booking. Meanwhile, it showed that respondents in the West Midlands (18%) and London (17%) are more likely than anyone else in the country to make a holiday booking during their lunch hours.

When it came to which sex were rushing to make holiday reservations during lunch, 20 % of men booked online while having a sandwich, while only 12.5% of women did the same. Furthermore, more than a third of blokes asked admitted that they were likely to use the office computer to search for flights. Women were less likely to do this at a figure of just 27%.

“What this shows very clearly is that customers want to be able to access the best deals and prices wherever they are – and however they choose to book. Our new app makes it easier than ever to find the best prices and book key trips from your handset or mobile.”

Why Not Book a Holiday in Your Lunch Hour!

More than anything, these results just go further to show how much new technology is reshaping the holiday industry. With smartphones, tablets and laptops, we can book a holiday in our lunch hour; why not! The convenience it gives to consumers is amazing.
