7 Fun Experiences to Have in Las Vegas that don’t involve gambling
Let’s face it – Vegas is known for one thing and that’s casinos. This of course means that a visit to the city is synonymous with gambling but in truth, Las Vegas is so much more than that. It’s a fun city that celebrates excess and has quite a few hidden and not-so-hidden delights.
Let’s get started with some of these experiences that don’t involve you gambling away your savings, shall we?
1. See a show:
Some of the world’s greatest performers have residences at many of Vegas’s hotels. This is the perfect way to guarantee seeing a musician/performer you might have wanted to see for a while and actually ensure that you can get tickets.
2. Experience the decadence:
Vegas is celebrated as an over the top and excessive city to visit. This is perhaps no more evident than in the design of its many iconic hotels and so when you’re in Las Vegas, take some time out to experience things like the recreation of Venice at the Venetian, the longest chocolate fountain at the Bellagio (along with the water show), the rollercoaster at the New York, New York hotel and so much more. Sure some of it is cheesy but you’re in Vegas to have fun so lean into it.
3. Watch a Cirque du Soleil show:
Seriously, these are out of this world. The acrobatics, choreography and design of these shows will leave you having to pick your jaw up from the floor in amazement! It really doesn’t matter which one you see, just see one. A quick note though – try to book your tickets in advance, as the popular ones tend to fill up fairly quickly, especially if you’re hoping for prime seats.

4. Eat your weight in delicious food:
Vegas has some of the fanciest restaurants in the US, with more celebrity chef restaurants than you can shake a stick at. Even if you decide to give these a miss, you should definitely check out the buffet at some of the really impressive restaurants as nowhere else does amazing buffets like Vegas. Particularly of note is the buffet at the Bellagio which has more lobster than you can imagine!
5. Drive to the Hoover Dam:
An iconic piece of functional American architecture, the hoover dam is a rather impressive sight to see when you’re in Vegas. From here you can also see the impressively expansive Lake Mead and even try some watersports!
6. Hop onboard a helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon:
You can book these from your hotel and they’re a particularly unique way to experience the Grand Canyon from the air! Granted, this isn’t strictly in Vegas but the Grand Canyon is pretty spectacular and worth the trip.
7. Party till dawn:
Vegas has an amazing array of clubs and if you’re going to go clubbing till dawn, this is a pretty fantastic place to do it. Many of the hotels host some of the world’s best venues, so check them out!
