With summer fast approaching, you might want to head somewhere new and unique, instead of going back to Spain or Greece, and Mexico City is the perfect place. If you’re hoping to visit Mexico’s capital, you might want a few clues on how you can enjoy this amazing city for less – these are Bravofly’s top four cheap ways to do Mexico City!

Mexico’s sprawling capital, this titular city is frenetic. You’ll find everything you could ever want – blazing sun, fascinating architecture, a thriving cultural scene and plenty of authentic Mexican cuisine houses.

If you’re travelling on a budget, Mexico City may seem a tad too far out of your price range, considering how long it takes to get there, but it can actually be very reasonable, as long as you know where to find a bargain…

Bravofly’s Top Five

No matter the city, what continent it sits on, or the reputation it holds, you can always find a bargain; you just need to know what to look for:

1)      Bravofly Search Engine: Naturally, the biggest expense concern for Mexico City is how to get there, as flights can usually set you back a fair bit. Use the Bravofly flight search engine not only to find the cheapest flights, but hotels, travel and tours as well.

2)      Bosque de Chapultepec: One of the largest parks in the Western hemisphere, this green oasis in the middle of the cityscape is the perfect place to sit back and take in the Mexican rays. It’s stunningly beautiful, has a plethora of historical gems to visit and best of all, entry to the park won’t cost you a single thing! You can also access the museums for nothing if you visit on Sundays!

3)      Plaza de la Constitucion: Sitting in the heart of the old town, the Plaza de la Constitucion is the beating vein of the metropolis and a treasure trove of cultural treats. Take a trip down to the square and watch the windup harmonica players and elaborate religious ceremonies for free. Also, seize the chance to try authentic Mexican cuisine for pennies from the square’s infamous vendors.

4)      Public Transport: If you want to save on travel costs, you have to take public transport in Mexico City. With a population of 20 million, the city has had to build an effective transport system and you can benefit from it. Try the Mexico City metro which sprawls over every major corner of the capital and will barely make a dent in your holiday budget!
