Slovenia is a stunning country nestled in-between; Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia, its rolling hills, dramatic mountains, quaint cities and friendly charm make this a perfect destination for a holiday! There really are so many places to see and do in this relatively small European country so don’t let it’s size put you off as it packs a hefty punch in experiences that it offers it’s visitors.

Take a look at the very best things to see and do whilst visiting Slovenia:

1. Visit Lake Bled

Arguably, one of the most famous lakes in the world, Lake Bled is a true gem to visit when in Slovenia. A short 50-minute drive from the capital’s airport, Lake Bled is the perfect fairytale setting to spend an afternoon.

2. Bike through the countryside

Slovenia offers some excellent biking trails across its beautiful landscape. Take advantage of an electric bike, grab some water and hop on a bike riding tour! The countryside here boasts some of the lushest, green rolling hills in all of Europe.

One of the best ways to discover Slovenia is by road. Hire a car for the day and discover the wonderful nature that’s a stones throw away from the capital city off Ljubljana. The town of Ptuj is the oldest and arguably, prettiest towns in all of Slovenia.

Take a wander through its historic centre and enjoy one of the many charming coffee houses and wineries that line the street.

For the best views, take a short stroll to the top of the castle that overlooks the town and the surrounding region.
